President Obama has been mostly silent on the issue of guns. Meanwhile, states are engaging in a largely successful push for expanded gun rights, even passing measures that have been rejected before.
    Are people/politicians so fucking stupid. Or have the pols sold all vestiges of ethics and morality to the highest bidder ?……This is from a NY Times Article…..In Virginia, the General Assembly approved a bill last week that allows
people to carry concealed weapons in bars and restaurants that serve
alcohol, and the House of Delegates voted to repeal a 17-year-old ban
on buying more than one handgun a month. The actions came less than
three years after the shootings at Virginia Tech that claimed 33 lives and prompted a major national push for increased gun control.

A Con Edison transformer exploded beneath the sidewalk on Avenue of the Americas this morning, badly damaging a building full of stores and offices. But fire officials said there no immediate reports of injuries.
    That’s our office building. The fireball came up way beyond the 8th floor. Was scary and surreal…Immediate evacuation of office and building. We are back to work tomorrow and everyone is safe. So it ain’t so bad.
