China Wins Olympic Gold in Human Rights Violation

29.07.2008 by arZan Category Politics, Sport

The Olympics have not even started and China seems to have come up tops in one field…Human Rights Violation.

A damning report by Amnesty International says

China had not honored vows to improve rights that officials made in lobbying for the Games, and was not living up to commitments as an Olympic host, Amnesty International stated in the report released in Hong Kong. [link]

Of course, this is not something surprising.

Yeah, it’s not surprising, just unfortunate and tragic. There is a collection of research articles on the Olympics/China on IssueLab that go in depth about the harassment of the press, censorship, and more severe human rights violations.
