The Diwali Mela at South Street Seaport in New York City is the second biggest Indian themed festival in the city.
About three or four blocks around South street seaport are teeming with thousands of Indians who are out to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights.
The culmination is a fantastic fireworks display on the East River which can be viewed with a grandstand view on the steps of Pier 17.
This year the mela returns..
