Highway Robbery and Hunger in India

Farmers in Vidharba are being forced to sell their land for “paise to the rupee”. Gaurav Sabnis expresses outrage at this Highway Robbery by the Government.

Atanu Dey informs us that according to UN estimates, India has the largest number of hungry people. Over 200 million, or about one-fifth of India’s population, is chronically hungry. This is an apparent paradox in a country which is food-surplus on the aggregate.
