Subra Suresh, a distinguished professor at MIT will take over as the Dean of the Engineering School at MIT. An alumnus of the IIT Madras batch of 1997 Subra Suresh is at the forefront of his field of engineering
This announcement was made recently by the Provost of MIT
In making the announcement, Provost L. Rafael Reif noted that MIT’s School of Engineering has “long held a unique national and international position of preeminence in both education and research. I am certain that in his new role as dean, Professor Suresh will continue the tradition of outstanding school leadership embodied by Institute Professor Thomas L. Magnanti, dean since 1999, and his distinguished predecessors.” [link]
This is a great achievement for Subra and he makes his country proud of him. Way to go Professor.
