US Govt trying to cover up !!

U.S. won’t ban media from New Orleans searches

CNN filed suit for right to cover search for bodies of Katrina victims

HOUSTON, Texas

Rather than fight a lawsuit by CNN, the federal government abandoned its effort Saturday to prevent the media from reporting on the recovery of the dead in New Orleans.

It is amazing as to what levels the government can sink to. First they screwed up, and now they want to cover up the facts and the tragedy. Sometimes it makes me wonder if we are living in a democracy or Nazi Germany of the 30’s.

pict59.jpg The article continues

Attorneys for the network argued that the ban was an unconstitutional prior restraint on news gathering. U.S. District Judge Keith Ellison issued a temporary restraining order against a “zero access” policy announced earlier Friday by Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honore, who is overseeing the federal relief effort in the city, and Terry Ebbert, the city’s homeland security director. A hearing was scheduled for Saturday morning to determine if the order should be made permanent. In explaining the ban, Ebbert said, “we don’t think that’s proper” to let media view the bodies.

WTF ??? Does this man even realize what he is saying. What would be the reason for the media to not see the bodies.

If anything it will make the people realize what assholes they have as leaders, right from Bush up there to the sacked FEMA chief.

The US it seems is going backwards in social evolution. Some of the incidents I read today are straight out of George Orwells’ 1984 or Animal Farm.

This is an aerial picture from cryptome.org. For those who are not in the know, cryptome has for years been running a series called Eyeball, where they provide aerial shots of things and places. This was much before google earth was even conceived.

Their current series of Katrina Disaster relief contains some very gory images. Please be careful when you look at them. They are in your face stark and shocking. The site is slow, but persist.

The above image is a sample from cryptome’s website. Once again, view the site with caution. The pictorials are not for the weak hearted. I also have a feeling the site will shut down due to the crazy traffic on it.

  1. Bush and co. tried to do an Iraq here, and say “you shouldn’t see the dead”…..but the difference is that this is IN America. So even the media finds some balls….

  2. Well Bush, in spite of his being “pro-freedom” for everyone in the world, does not believe in freedom for Americans. Remember his quote where he said “there should be some limits on freedom” or something like that. Thats before he went around preaching freedom for Iraq.
