Vanishing Point consists of a map of the world connected to a database fed by news coming from several international newspapers. The visibility of each country on the map results from the quantity of media coverage the country receives, so those countries that do not make the news disappear progressively.

This is really cool. Notice Australia….NO NEWS…this is so true. You know at times..on Television News they would actually show a cat/dog being resuced by the Police or Fire department..cause they had nothing else to show.
Or they would simply show what was happening in U.K. We use to joke among friends that…’Even when the Royal Family farts in London…they would open a wine bottle in Sydney to celebrate’.
Keep in mind that the site uses newspapers from the G7 nations, hence, Australia might not get coverage.
And even then, Australia is so far out there, that it gets lost. NZ is even worse in that sense.
